Renal Replacement Therapy in Critical Care

This is a pdf document, which uses the format of self-assessment to lead in to a tutorial about renal replacement therapy in the critical care environment. It discusses the differences between dialysis and filtration, and the indications for each. There is some discussion about the use of RRT for the removal of drugs and toxins, and practical issues such as vascular access, anticoagulation, and the prescription of RRT in the critical care setting (therefore filtration is discussed in more detail). A useful resource with a slightly different perspective to more Renal-specific sites.
